We refer to your feedback we received on 26 June 2006.
2 We regret to learn of the long wait you encountered on 26 June 2006 while waiting for Service 165.
3 As per operation record, the delay was due to absence of crew and the situation was further aggravated when one of the buses broke down.
4 Allow us to explain that in such cases where the bus captain is absent, we would normally be able to find a replacement (a spare bus captain) to operate the bus as per scheduled. However, there are occasions where we might not have any spare captains around. In which case, the next bus might be dispatched later than scheduled.
5 We are mindful of the undesirable consequences of bus breakdowns. All buses are scheduled for preventive maintenance on a monthly basis. Nonetheless, unfortunate incidents of bus breakdowns do occur from time to time. It is during such times that we seek your understanding most. The relevant department has been working closely with our workshop to ensure on-the-road breakdowns are reduced to a minimum.
6 We understand the full reliance of our service. Where it is within our control, we will try our best to minimize service disruptions and long waiting time for our customers.
