Man Found Dead With Gunshot Wounds
A 41-year-old Chinese man was found dead with gunshot wounds at his flat this morning.
On 15 Feb 2006 at about 7.10 am , Police responded to a call that someone had been shot at Blk 223 Serangoon Ave 4. A 41-year-old businessman who resided in the flat, was found bleeding and lying face down on the floor in the study room. He was pronounced dead at the scene at 7.50am
Earlier at about 6.55 am , a man had entered the flat armed with a gun. The victim's wife, teenaged daughter and maid were tied up and the house was ransacked. A few shots were heard and the victim was fatally wounded. The victim’s wife, daughter and maid were unhurt. The man then ran out of the door towards an unknown direction.
Police are currently on the look out for the suspect. He is believed to be Chinese in his late 30s to 40s, and is described as plump built, about 1.7 m tall. He is wearing a black round-neck T-shirt with some wordings, black pants and black shoes. He was also sporting a black cap and appeared to be blind in his right eye. He fled the house carrying a blue-coloured denim handbag which is believed to contain cash and jewellery taken from the house.
Members of the public who spot anyone fitting the description of the suspect are advised to call the Police immediately. They should not approach the suspect as he may be dangerous.

Manhunt underway in Singapore after gunshot murder of businessman
SINGAPORE: A 41-year-old businessman was shot dead early Wednesday morning in his flat in Serangoon.
When police arrived at about 7.10am at Block 223, Serangoon Avenue 4, they found the man lying face down and bleeding on the floor of the study room.
Police say a man, armed with a gun, had entered the flat at about 6.55am.
The victim's wife, teenage daughter and the maid were tied up and the house was ransacked.
A few shots were heard and the man then ran out of the flat.
The businessman may have known the assailant, police say.
A manhunt is currently ongoing for the suspect who is believed to be a Chinese man in his late 30s to 40s.
He has been described as being plump and about 1.7 metres tall, and was last seen wearing a black round necked T-shirt, black pants and black shoes.
He also had a black cap and appeared to be blind in his right eye.
Police add that he had fled the house carrying a blue denim handbag believed to contain cash and jewellery taken from the flat.
The police have advised members of the public not to approach the suspect as he may be dangerous.
Channel NewsAsia news team spoke to some neighbours who were awakened by the gunshots.
"In the morning, I heard 5, 6, or 7 loud 'bangs'. I didn't know they were gunshots until the police arrived later," said one neighbour.
"I heard a lot of noise outside. I thought it was just some people quarrelling but early in the morning I heard a loud 'bang' like gunshot....it was just a while, so I continued sleeping," said another. - CNA/ir
