Checking out horoscope.... 8/26/2004 11:36:00 AM

Think I kinda bo liao to do this.... haha......

Taurus with Cancer

This combination could bring out the gentlest and most sensuous qualities in both of you. It could also bring out a lot of discussion about money, security, and what kind of home life you both want. However wild your youthful behaviour might be or have been, both of you secretly long for security and a beautiful place in which you can share intimate moments and enjoy the good things of life.

Through each other you might discover a strong desire for a family, and you might also discover that you are more conventional and concerned about being "respectable" than either of you had realised.

Taurus' earthy calm gives a feeling of safety and stability to Cancer's anxieties and volatile moods. Cancer's empathy and imaginative ability to enter into another person's inner world makes Taurus feel cherished, understood and loved.

Enjoy all that you share, and build that nest which matters so much to both of you. But try not to become so insulated and safety-conscious that you let the more unpredictable joys of life pass you by. Change can be good for both of you, however much you might protest.

You are a Taurus

Ferdinand the Bull, in the famous children's story, is a loveable creature and a perfect Taurean. He amuses himself by smelling the flowers, listening to the birdsong, and enjoying the summer breezes. He's easily contented, at home in his pasture. Then one day he sits on a flower, and on the flower is a bee...You can work out the rest. The story of many Taurean lives runs along these lines. There's lots of contentment, and you can appreciate the beauty in life more than any other sign. But there's always that damned bee.

A few words encapsulate your fundamental nature: peaceful, serene, pleasure-loving, calm, thorough, stable, sensible. The famous Taurean patience isn't built on discipline; it's the patience of nature, of the Earth itself. There's no doubt that you like your security in tangible, unchanging forms - like gold bullion, or valuable antique furniture, or a really superb Ferrari.

Wealth of a non-corporeal kind (like dreams, self-understanding, and other invisible commodities) is not really wealth to a Taurus. Security is what you can trust, and what you can trust is what's physically real and doesn't change.

Taureans are realists. You aren't ambitious in the usual sense of the word, and you're happy to remain the unseen power behind the throne -provided it gives you pleasure and earns good money. You know that you can't eat laurels, and fame can't fix a leaky roof. The problem with all this reality is that you may miss what's not visible to the earthy eye.

You value simplicity, consistency and basic facts, but much of life -including the mysterious depths of love - is neither simple nor consistent. Taureans are often frightened by what they can't see or hold in the palms of their strong, capable hands. You're an undeniably sensuous creature, not only in the sexual realm, but in anything that pleases the senses.

Taureans often have real creative talent at painting, design or music, and you've got the patience and common sense to make the best of your gifts. Life in an artist's garret may not appeal, but then, you don't mythologise yourself and are pretty shrewd about assessing just how big or little your talent is and how you can best achieve satisfaction without sacrificing comfort. You're wise enough to know that there are no free lunches, and that it's enough to do what you do well. Aspirations to save the world or write the great novel of the century aren't your style.

You aren't interested in anything cheap, and that includes your choice of mate. Quality counts. Although you have a sentimental, gentle, romantic streak, you'll still want to check a prospective partner's references. Sometimes you're so entranced by physical beauty or material success that you miss what lies underneath. Sad to say, many Taureans are hopelessly ensnared by appearances. Yet what you value you cherish, and you'll hang on with both tough fists.

Taureans stand by their loved ones. You may not always understand their motives, but you'll remain loyal regardless. All that steadiness can sometimes lead to complacency. That's where the bee comes in. It seems to be a necessary part of Taurus' life pattern. Without the occasional sting, you can remain charming but childlike. Life can seem terribly simple to you, stark black and white with no shades of grey in between.

The bee (which usually takes the form of a disappointment in love, or a big financial crisis) awakens your capacity for tolerance and wisdom. It's a lovely combination, once achieved. Then you can fathom the deepest realities of life and can also empathise and remain open to the realms of the imagination and the heart. And that's the greatest form of wealth there is.

The Cancer partner

For the true Cancerian, love has a lot to do with security. It also has to do with affection, kindness and sympathy and, if the moment is right, intense passion. But most of all, love has a lot to do with Mother. If Cancer becomes truly involved, then Mother enters the scene - although, hopefully, in a psychological sense and not literally. Cancers sometimes badly need to be mothered. Equally, they may need to do the mothering. Show your pain, weakness or vulnerability and you have won Cancer's heart. Show too much strength and independence, and things might not work out so well.

Cancers are emotional people. But don't expect everything to be talked about. If you're involved with a Cancer, it's a good idea to learn to read signals and interpret moods. Sullen sulkiness means she's feeling rejected. Crabbiness means she's feeling unappreciated. An explosion of delightful wit and wacky humour means she's happy and contented. And so on. But if you try to confront the issue, the Crab will slide away from you: "It was only a mood."

If you're a very verbal type who needs everything spelled out in clear, logical sentences, either develop your intuition or choose another sign. The Cancer partner, when in the mood, can out-talk anyone. When in another sort of mood, you may get only stony silence and an atmosphere you can cut with a knife.

This is a changeable sign, and Cancerians are notorious for keeping the home base safe while collecting thrills on the journey. But in the end, the priorities are clear: anything that jeopardises the security of an important relationship just isn't on.

Divorce is often a horrific experience for Cancers. No separation is easy for the Cancer partner, even if the relationship is as extinct as a dodo and both of you know it. Once again, learn to read the signs. Gradual withdrawal and sexual disinterest - when they go on and on, and aren't just a passing mood - are often Cancer's way of saying, "Get me out of here." But Cancer will rarely be the one to make the decision to leave an unhappy relationship. The emotional confrontation is too terrifying. They would rather become quietly, progressively more unpleasant - without even realising it - until you're the one to make the break. But it takes a lot to get a Cancer to this point: consistently trampling on her feelings and dreams, being insensitive or cold or, most devastating of all, betraying her.

Remember that Cancers never wear their hearts on their sleeves. That hard shell they sometimes present on the outside is there for self-protection, not for fun, and even a lifelong companion may never get to see the Crab fully vulnerable. Even after you've lived with a Cancer for decades, you may still never know the depth of feeling she has for you. Sometimes she doesn't know it herself. A Cancer who loves deeply can be shattered if the trust is broken, and she has a long, long memory. She may not leave, and she may forgive you, but she'll never, never forget.

It's easy to love this sign for its gentleness, sensitivity, imagination, subtlety, and quiet courage. The Cancer partner possesses a truly magical ability to heal your fears, your pain, your insecurity and loneliness. She's protective and gentle, and she can make you feel very, very safe and very, very loved. It's harder to tolerate the moods, the emotional games, and the innate egocentricity of the child which is always present in this complex sign.

The Cancer partner also possesses the ability to infuriate and confuse, bewilder and irritate, anger and enrage even an even-tempered mate. If you're looking for consistency and a permanently easy-going personality in a partner, look elsewhere. Whichever role Cancer plays - needy child or protective parent, or both - that need for closeness is always there deep down, even in the midst of a bad mood or a period of emotional withdrawal.

If you are a coolly self-sufficient person and find displays of feeling embarrassing - your own or your partner's -it might be better to choose another sign. But if you have a warm heart and an appreciation of real intimacy, you've found a winner. Cancer's greatest gift is a profound instinctual understanding of human nature and human suffering. And there's no human being walking the Earth who doesn't need a bit of that.

The Cancer woman

There are two kinds of Cancer women: those who are Mother, and those who are eternal girls. Sometimes you find both in one. Cancer is often the epitome of enigmatic femaleness: intuitive, moody, alternatively loving and cruel, shrewd yet childlike, unpredictable, gentle, capable of surprising ruthlessness, and ultimately full of mystery. But don't think, because she can cook with wonderful flair and creativity, that she's domesticated. Or that, because she likes children, she necessarily wants children of her own, or has no other goal in life than making you happy.

Cancer women can be driving, ambitious, ruthless, shrewd, and capable of running large corporations with ease. Admittedly, many tend to live their ambitions through their partner or children. That's because lots of Cancer women like playing Mother. They have a marvellous gift for creating a warm, loving atmosphere, and dealing with all the bruises, physical or emotional, which their loved ones incur. This domestic face of Cancer heals, nurtures and supports. But deep inside is another face: wild, strong, solitary, full of emotional storms, and essentially primitive, like Nature itself.

Some Cancer women show this archaic side by seeing their partners as children to be cosseted, loved, possessed and remodelled. A relationship with this kind of Cancer woman can be frightening, but it's a great challenge. If you are always treated like a child, you will remain one.

Standing up to the Great Mother and earning her respect can lead to a wonderfully dynamic, passionate, constantly stimulating love. This dark aspect of the sign fascinates, attracts and repels. Sometimes it only comes out at the Full Moon. But safe and domesticated it isn't. If you really want a placid, unconditionally loving Mummy, think again. The cooking may be great, but you need to understand and respect the woman.

First and foremost, the Cancer woman must create. Sometimes her creativity is expressed through the bearing of children. But by mid-life, if this has been her chosen path, she may suffer from a deep crisis of identity. Who am I? What is my own life about? This is the greatest challenge life holds for the Cancer woman. In a sense, her real life doesn't begin until this stage of the journey. The first part of life is often bound up with home and family and loved ones, but later on, the world must become larger and the family bigger and no longer linked only by blood ties.

Many Cancer women make excellent teachers, counsellors, therapists and public relations people. Their natural empathy, tact, compassion and ability to read the unspoken feelings of others makes them excel in any sphere where they need to deal with people. Highly imaginative, they may also have rare talent in one of the arts, but equally their intuitive minds can equip them to work in financial and technological spheres which require an imaginative and intuitive grasp of complex ideas.

The creativity of the Cancer woman must extend to spheres other than the biological. If she has no creative outlet for her gifts, she can sink into a smouldering resentment which she may not even be aware of herself, but which can result in some pretty dark and difficult moods. She needs to be needed, but she also needs to give creative shape to the imaginative depths within her.

The real richness of the Cancer woman's soul shows itself most truly after thirty-five. It is a slow-maturing sign. Crabs don't race like greyhounds. They move slowly, sideways, never straight ahead. The Cancer woman, often more oyster-like than crablike, may take half a lifetime to grow her pearl - her creative vision, her wisdom about human nature, and the depth of her love for people and life.
